When daytime TV presenter Gaby Mortimer discovers a body in woodland near her London home she reports it to the police. Visibly shaken, Gaby tries to carry on with her normal life which becomes increasingly difficult as the police investigation focuses more and more on the fact that maybe Gaby is the killer. Trying to clear her name she joins forces with sympathetic journalist Jack Hayward and together they set out to investigate areas overlooked by the police.
Under Your Skin was an enthralling read. The tale was dark and menacing and the plot moved quickly along until the shocking and unexpected climax. (I have to admit that early on I thought "hmm well it's obvious that so and so did it" but I was totally on the wrong track!) The story was well plotted and the characters were all very believable. Sabine Durrant writes deftly and tells a skillfully plotted story.
I look forward to reading more of her books.
Recommended.
