Everyday Sexism.

Laura Bates started Everyday Sexism four years ago as an online project/forum where women could share experiences of sexism and sexist behaviour that they had encountered. The project was intended to raise awareness, support women and end sexual abuse. Since then the project has become a global phenomenon, spawning a twitter account where followers can post accounts of sexism with various hash tags such as #shoutingback #SREnow #harassedatwork #whenIwas to name but a few.

Laura Bates has been credited with spreading a digital wave of feminism and here she collects and presents many of the stories that have been posted. She also presents a mass of statistics and data from studies that help illustrate the inequalities faced by women from all around the globe in all walks of life.

Everyday Sexism is an eye opening read, for both men and women. It will make you aware, it will make you angry, it will empower you.
